KASTRO HOUSE

Set within the fortified medieval core of Pyrgos, Kastro House is a hidden gem steeped in character and historical charm. Located inside the Kasteli, one of Santorini’s oldest and most atmospheric settlements, this residence blends vernacular Cycladic architecture with subtle, modern refinement. For this photoshoot, my goal was to capture the unique spirit of the house and its setting: the worn stone walls, arched ceilings and thick masonry that speak to its heritage, alongside the careful restoration work that transforms it into a welcoming and stylish retreat. Kastro House offered a rich narrative to photograph: not only as an accommodation, but as a living part of Santorini’s cultural and architectural fabric. The final imagery evokes both the quiet dignity of the past and the warmth of contemporary island life.
